- Where is the packet pickup located?
- The Expo/Packet Pickup usually takes place at the Marina da Glória or the Pião da Praça Mauá. It is mandatory to collect your bib in the three days prior; no race-day pickup is available.
- Is the course point-to-point or a loop?
- The 42k is a point-to-point race starting in Recreio dos Bandeirantes and finishing at Aterro do Flamengo. The 21k usually starts and finishes at Aterro.
- How do I get to the 42k start line in Recreio?
- Organisers provide shuttle buses from Aterro do Flamengo (near the finish) to the start line. You must book these in advance during registration or at the Expo.
- What is the typical race weather?
- May/June is winter in Rio. Expect a humid start with temperatures around 18°C, rising to 26°C. The sun can be very intense after 9:00 AM on the coastal stretches.
- Are there hills on the course?
- The course is remarkably flat as it follows the coastline. The only minor inclines are small ramps near Joá and the tunnels connecting the beaches.
- Is water provided in cups or bottles?
- Water is provided in sealed plastic cups (copinhos) every 2-3km. Electrolytes and fruit are usually available every 5-10km.
