Where is the swim located?
The swim takes place in Kristanovicky Pond (Křišťanovický rybník), roughly 10km outside of Prachatice. Athletes typically ride or take a shuttle to the start.
Is the bike course technical?
Yes, it is a classic XTERRA course with steep climbs, rooty descents, and narrow singletrack through the Sumava forest.
How do I get my bike to the swim start?
There is a mandatory bike check-in at Transition 1 (Swim Start) the day before or early race morning via a provided shuttle or self-drive.
Where is the best place for spectator viewing?
The Great Square (Velké náměstí) features the famous 'staircase descent' and the finish line, providing the loudest atmosphere.
Are wetsuits allowed?
Usually yes. The high-altitude pond remains cool enough (18-21°C) that wetsuits are typically legal for all age groups.
What tires should I use for the MTB leg?
