The race is a point-to-point starting in Stra. The organization provides free shuttle buses for all athletes departing from Venice (Piazzale Roma) and Mestre (Train Station). You must book your slot during registration.
Where is the Expo for packet pickup?
The Venicemarathon Village is typically located in San Giuliano Park in Mestre. It is mandatory to pick up your bib here on Friday or Saturday; no bibs are distributed on Sunday morning.
What is the course profile like?
The first 25km are flat and scenic along the Brenta River. The final 10km are challenging due to the 14 small bridges in Venice, which are covered with wooden ramps for the race.

Yes, you can drop your bag at the start in Stra. The organization transports it to the finish line in Venice (Riva Sette Martiri) where you can collect it after finishing.

Most of the course is asphalt. However, once you enter Venice, you will run on 'masegni' (stone slabs), which can be slippery if wet.
What happens if there is 'Acqua Alta' (high tide)?
The race organizers have alternate routes and raised walkways in place. The race almost always proceeds, but be prepared for potentially damp conditions in St. Mark's Square.
