FAQ

Where is the packet pickup and Expo located?
The Expo is typically held at the RDS (Royal Dublin Society) in Ballsbridge. You must collect your number and timing chip here on Friday or Saturday; there is no race-day collection.
How do I get to the start line on race morning?
The start is at Merrion Square in the city centre. Most athletes staying in Dublin 2 or 4 can walk. Public transport (DART, Luas, and Dublin Bus) operates with some diversions but is reliable; use the 'Leap Top-Up' app or a visitor card.
Are there pacers for the Dublin Marathon?
Yes, pacers are provided for various target times starting from 3:00 through to 5:00 hours at 10 or 15-minute intervals.
What is the bag drop policy?
Bag drop is located near the finish area at Merrion Square. Use the clear plastic bag provided at the Expo. You should drop your bag at least 45 minutes before your wave start.
Is the course flat or hilly?
The course is generally described as single-lap and relatively flat, but it contains several 'undulating' sections, particularly through Phoenix Park and toward the end. It is not as flat as Berlin but very fast.
What happens if I need medical assistance during the race?
St John Ambulance provides extensive medical stations along the route and a large field hospital at the finish line.
