FAQ

Where is the swim start and transition area?
The swim starts at the Porto Vecchio/Portosole area. Transition (T1 and T2) is located within the Portosole marina complex, providing a centralized hub for the race.
Is the bike course closed to traffic?
The bike course features significant sections on the Poggio climb and inland roads that are managed by local police with rolling closures, but athletes must remain vigilant.
How do I get my bike from Nice Airport to Sanremo?
The most reliable method is a private airport transfer or a pre-booked 'NCC' (Rental with Driver) service. While trains run from Nice to Ventimiglia and then Sanremo, they can be crowded for bike boxes.
What is the terrain of the run course?
The run course is almost entirely flat, following the scenic coastal cycling path ('Pista Ciclabile'), making it very fast but exposed to the sun and wind.
When is athlete registration and packet pickup?
Registration usually opens on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday at the Expo area in Portosole. Check the official athlete guide for confirmation of your wave times.
Is a wetsuit required for the swim?
In October, the water temperature in the Ligurian Sea is typically around 20-22°C. Wetsuits are usually optional for age groupers but mandatory if the temperature drops.
