How do I get to the Start Line in Hopkinton?
The B.A.A. provides shuttle buses from Boston Common (Public Garden side) to the start. You must use these buses as there is no private drop-off at the start.
When and where is Packet Pickup?
Bib pickup is at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center during the Expo, typically Friday through Sunday before the Monday race.
What is the 'Gear Check' policy?
Athletes check their post-race bags at Boston Common before boarding the buses. You cannot bring bags with you on the bus to Hopkinton.
Is the course really that hilly?
The first half is net downhill, which can trash your quads. The Newton Hills (miles 16-21) conclude with Heartbreak Hill. It is a strategic course.
How do I handle the late start time?
Waves start between 10:00 and 11:15 AM. You need a solid plan for 'second breakfast' while waiting in the Athletes' Village at Hopkinton.
What is the weather like in April?
Extremely variable. It can range from 5°C with driving rain to 25°C and humid. Check the forecast 24 hours prior and bring throwaway layers for the village.
