How do I get to the start line on the bridge?

You cannot walk or drive to the start line. You must take the Fertagus train to Pragal station or the official shuttles from Praca de Espanha. Use your bib for free public transport on race morning.

Where is the finish line located?

The race finishes in front of the Jeronimos Monastery in Belem. Many hotels are located a few kilometres away, so plan for a tram or taxi back.

Is the course profile fast?

Yes, it is one of the fastest half marathons globally. Aside from the slight incline onto the bridge, the route is almost entirely flat and at sea level along the river.

Where and when is packet pickup?

Accepted Answer

Packet pickup typically takes place at the Seaside SportExpo at the Altice Arena (Parque das Nacoes) in the three days preceding the race. No bibs are given on race day.

What happens if there are high winds on the bridge?

Accepted Answer

The start on the 25 de Abril Bridge can be windy. If winds are dangerously high, race organisers may move the start to the roadway below (though this is rare).

Are there bag drop facilities?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there is a mobile bag drop near the start area on the bridge. Your belongings will be transported to the finish area in Belem for collection.
