The race starts on 5th Avenue at 80th Street and finishes at 60th Street. It is a straight, net-downhill point-to-point course.

How do I know what time my heat starts?

The 5th Avenue Mile is run in age-group waves. Heats typically start with older age groups in the morning (around 07:30) and culminate with the Pro races in the early afternoon.

Where is the packet pickup located?

Bibs are usually picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER at 320 West 57th Street. There is typically no race-day registration or bib pickup.

Is there a bag drop available?

Yes, NYRR provides a bag check service. You drop your bag near the start area (80th St) and it is transported to the finish area (60th St) for you.

What is the course profile like?

The first quarter-mile is slightly uphill, followed by a long, gentle downhill through the middle half, and a flat finishing sprint.

Question 6

Can I bring my own hydration station?

Accepted Answer

No need. Water stations are provided at the start and finish. Since it's only a mile, most athletes do not carry fluids during the run.
