Where does the race take place?
The swim starts at Boulevard Lake, with the transition and finish line located at Kinsmen Park in Thunder Bay.
What is the mountain bike course like?
The bike leg takes place in the Shuniah Mines trail system. It is technical with many roots, rocks, and tight singletrack. Hardtails are possible, but full-suspension is recommended for comfort and control.
Is the swim in a lake or river?
It is a freshwater lake swim in Boulevard Lake. The water is generally calm but can be murky; visibility is limited.
When is packet pickup?
Typically pickup is on Friday afternoon at Kinsmen Park or a local bike shop partner. Check the official athlete guide 2 weeks before for confirmed times.
Are wetsuits allowed?
Yes, water temperatures in mid-August typically range from 18°C to 22°C (64-71°F), usually making it wetsuit-legal.
How do I get to the start on race morning?
