FAQ

Is a mountain bike or gravel bike recommended?
A mountain bike is essential. The course features technical singletrack, steep Himalayan climbs, and rugged descents that are unsuitable for gravel bikes.
How do I get my bike from Pokhara Lakeside to Begnas Lake?
Most athletes stay in Lakeside and take a private van or taxi to Begnas (approx. 30-45 mins). Many hotels can arrange a local 'Bolero' jeep which fits multiple bikes.
Where is the packet pickup?
Registration usually takes place in Lake Side, Pokhara, two days before the race, with a final mandatory briefing at the venue the day before.
Are there many water stations on the MTB leg?
Stations are limited due to the remote terrain. It is highly recommended to carry a 1.5L hydration pack in addition to bottles.
What is the water temperature in Begnas Lake?
In late November, the water temperature is typically around 19-21°C. Wetsuits are usually optional but recommended for buoyancy and warmth.
Can I rent a high-end MTB locally?
Yes, Pokhara Mountain Bike Adventure has race-ready Trek and Giant bikes, but book at least 2 months in advance as demand is high during race week.
