- Packet pickup is held at the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center (XICEC) over the three days prior to the race. You must bring your passport and confirmation letter.
- Is the course flat or hilly?
- It is predominantly flat and very fast, running along the scenic Huandao Road (Island Ring Road). It is an IAAF Gold Label course frequently used for PB attempts.
- What is the best way to get to the start line?
- If not staying within walking distance, use the dedicated marathon shuttle buses or the Xiamen Metro. Many hotels on the island provide guest shuttles due to road closures.
- Are there cut-off times?
- Yes, the Xiamen Marathon typically has a strict 6-hour time limit. There are intermediate cut-offs at various kilometer markers along the course.
- What is the weather usually like in January?
- Conditions are usually ideal for marathons: cool and dry with temperatures between 10°C and 17°C, though coastal winds can be a factor on Huandao Road.
- Is there a gear drop-off?
- Yes, gear bags are available at the start area at XICEC. Bags must be dropped off at least 30 minutes before your wave start time.
