FAQ

How do I get to the marathon start line?
The marathon starts in Emmersdorf. You can take the event-specific athlete train (Wachaubahn) or shuttle bus from Krems. Your bib number serves as your ticket.
Where is the packet pickup located?
Packet pickup typically takes place at the Kunsteisbahn Krems or the nearby shopping centre (Bühl Center) on Friday and Saturday.
Is the course flat?
Yes, it is one of the fastest courses in Austria. It follows the Danube downstream with a total net descent, making it excellent for Personal Bests.
What are the mid-race nutrition options?
Stations are every 5km providing water, ISO drinks, bananas, and sometimes magnesium. After 20km, cola and gels are usually available.
Where can I leave my gear bag?
There are clothing transport trucks at each start line (Emmersdorf for Marathon, Spitz for Half). Bags are transported to the finish area in Krems.
Is the race scenic?
Extremely. You run through the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, passing vineyards, castles, and the famous blue tower of Dürnstein.
