- Where is packet pickup located?
- Packet pickup typically occurs on Friday at the Hyatt Regency Valencia or a local running shop (Runner’s Lane) to avoid morning-of congestion at the canyon.
- Is there parking at the San Francisquito Canyon Road Trailhead?
- Parking is limited at the immediate trailhead. Arrive at least 60 minutes before the start, as overflow parking often requires a 10-15 minute walk to the start line.
- What is the trail terrain like?
- Expect fire roads and some technical single-track with sandy patches and loose rock. Lugged trail shoes are highly recommended for the descent.
- Is there cell service on the course?
- Cell service is extremely spotty in San Francisquito Canyon. Download your maps and notify family that you will be offline until you return to Valencia proper.
- Is this a self-supported race?
- While aid stations are provided, it is a mountain trail race. You are expected to carry at least 1.5L of water and your own emergency whistle and nutrition.
- What happens if it rains?
- Canyon trails can become dangerously muddy or subject to washouts. Check the race website 24 hours prior for potential route diversions or weather delays.
