How do I get to Mount Yun (Yunqiu Mountain)?
The most efficient way is taking a high-speed train to Houma West (Houma Xi) Railway Station. From there, the race organisers typically provide shuttle buses or you can take a 45-minute taxi to the Mount Yun Scenic Area.
What is the mandatory gear requirement?
UTMB standard requirements apply: waterproof jacket, survival blanket, whistle, mobile phone, and at least 1L of water capacity. Expect strict gear checks at bib collection.
What is the terrain like on the course?
The course is a mix of ancient stone steps, forest trails, and some technical ridgelines. The vertical gain is concentrated in steep staircase climbs unique to Chinese mountain races.
Are trekking poles allowed?
Yes, trekking poles are permitted and highly recommended for the steep ascents and descents through the scenic area.
Will there be late-night food at the finish?
The finish line village usually provides hot local food like Shanxi noodles, which are perfect for recovery after a long mountain effort.
