Where is the race packet pickup?
Packet pickup typically takes place at the Salle des Fêtes in the centre of Lhuis the evening before the race and early on race morning.
What is the mandatory gear for the long trail?
Generally includes a 1L water capacity, survival blanket, whistle, waterproof jacket, and a mobile phone. Check the final briefing for weather-dependent additions.
Is there a shuttle service from Lyon?
No dedicated race shuttle exists. It is highly recommended to rent a car from Lyon St Exupéry Airport for the 1-hour drive to Lhuis.
What type of terrain should I expect?
Expect technical limestone singletrack, steep forest climbs, and panoramic ridges overlooking the Rhône river. It is often muddy if May is wet.
Are poles allowed during the race?
Yes, walking/running poles are permitted and highly recommended for the SO Bugey due to the significant vertical gain.
Is there parking available on race morning?
Yes, the organizers provide signposted grass parking lots on the outskirts of Lhuis village, roughly a 5-10 minute walk to the start.
