FAQ

How do I get to the different start lines?
The race uses a 'hub and spoke' model. Shuttles are provided from the main finish hub in Obernai to the various start points (Colmar for Ultra-Trail, Barr for others). Reserve your shuttle during registration.
Where is the bib delivery (packet pickup)?
Packet pickup is typically held at the Salle des Fêtes or the race village in the centre of Obernai. You must present your ID and mandatory gear for inspection.
What mandatory gear is required?
Standard UTMB kit: waterproof jacket, survival blanket, whistle, mobile phone, at least 1L water capacity, and a headlamp for the longer distances.
What is the terrain like?
Expect a mix of technical forest trails, vineyard paths, and rocky sections near the various castles (Châteaux). It is less alpine than Chamonix but very 'punchy' with frequent elevation changes.
Can I use hiking poles?
Yes, poles are allowed but must be carried with you for the duration of the race once you start using them.
Are there cut-off times?
Yes, strict cut-off times apply at each aid station based on the race start time. These are published in the runner's guide and updated via the LiveTrail app.
