FAQ

How do I get my race packet?
Packet pickup is held at the Tokyo Marathon EXPO, typically at Tokyo Big Sight, several days before the race. You must bring photo ID and your QR code registration. There is absolutely no race-day pickup.
What is the security check like on race morning?
Expect high security. You will enter through specific gates based on your bib number. Allow at least 60-90 minutes for security screening and bag drop-off. Strictly no fluids are allowed through security; water is provided inside.
How does the bag drop-off work?
You must use the official bag provided at the EXPO. You drop it off at a designated truck in Shinjuku, and it will be transported to the finish area near Tokyo Station/Imperial Palace.
What is the typical weather on race day?
March in Tokyo is usually crisp and dry. Temperatures typically range from 5°C to 12°C. Wind can be a factor near the finish by the bay, so bring a throw-away layer for the start corrals.
Are there many hills on the course?
The course is famously flat and fast, with a net downhill. The only minor inclines are onto bridges in the final 10km, but compared to other majors, it is an ideal PR course.
How do I return to my hotel from the finish line?
The finish is near Tokyo Station. The Tokyo Metro and JR lines are the most efficient ways to travel. Buy a Suica or Pasmo card in advance to avoid ticket machine queues.
