What is the mandatory kit for The Dales High Way?
As an upland trail event, you must carry a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, whistle, survival blanket, and a mobile phone with the race director's number.
Where is the best place for packet pickup?
Registration typically takes place at the Victoria Hall in Saltaire or a designated marquee near Shipley Glen on the Friday evening before race day.
How technical is the terrain?
It is a mix of limestone paths, moorland tracks, and some pave. It is not overly technical but requires good footwear for wet grass and potential mud.
Are there road crossings?
Yes, there are several minor road crossings. Marshals will be present at major junctions, but the course is not closed to traffic.
Is the course marked?
The route follows the existing Dales High Way signs, but supplementary race flagging is usually provided at confusing junctions. Carrying a GPS device is highly recommended.
