The Championship es el evento insignia de media distancia de Challenge Family, celebrado en el centro de entrenamiento olímpico de clase mundial x-bionic® sphere. Where does the swim take place?
The swim is a single loop in the Danube River (Gabčíkovo canal). It is usually calm, but current strength varies based on the dam operations.
Is the bike course draft-legal?
No, it is a non-drafting Middle Distance event. Challenge Family races typically enforce a 20-metre draft rule for the Pro field and 12-metre for Age Groupers.
What is the bike course profile?
The course is exceptionally flat and fast, primarily following the Danube embankment. Crosswinds are the main challenge.
Where is packet pickup?
Packet pickup is located within the x-bionic sphere complex, usually near the T1 transition area. ID and race license are required.
Are wetsuits allowed?
Wetsuits are almost always allowed as the Danube water temperature in May typically ranges between 15°C and 18°C.
How do I get to Šamorín from Bratislava?
The easiest way is by car or bus (approx. 25 min). Many athletes fly into Bratislava (BTS) or Vienna (VIE) and book the official race shuttle.
