Conocida como la prestigiosa Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon, este evento conmemora el histórico ascenso al Everest de 1953. La carrera comienza en el Everest Base Camp (5.364 m) y sigue senderos de montaña y caminos de yaks hasta la capital sherpa de Namche Bazaar. How do I get my race bib and packet?
Packet pickup typically occurs in Kathmandu at the official pre-race briefing before the group trek starts. You cannot pick it up at Base Camp.
Is there a mandatory acclimatization period?
Yes, all international participants must join the official 15-day trek to Base Camp organized by the race to ensure proper altitude adaptation.
What is the terrain like for the marathon?
The course is almost entirely downhill from 5,364m to 3,440m, but it is extremely technical with glacial moraine, loose rock, steep switchbacks, and narrow suspension bridges.
How do I transport my gear to the finish line?
The race organizers provide yak and porter transport to move your non-running gear from Base Camp down to the finish line in Namche Bazaar.
What footwear is recommended?
Aggressive trail running shoes with excellent grip and rock plates are essential. Waterproofing is a bonus as you may encounter snow near the start.
Are there hydration stations on the course?
Yes, stations are placed approximately every 5km providing water, electrolyte drinks, and local snacks like biscuits and oranges.
