Is the start and finish in the same location?
No. The race starts in Lindau (Germany) and finishes in the Bodensee-Stadion in Bregenz (Austria). There is a third country involved, Switzerland, through which the course passes.
How do I get to the start line in Lindau?
Athletes can use the 'Event-Ticket' for free transport. The most iconic way is the participant ship from Bregenz harbour, or you can take the regional ÖBB trains.
Where is packet pickup located?
Usually at the Festspielhaus Bregenz. It is recommended to collect your bib on Friday or Saturday as there is limited distribution on Sunday morning.
Is the course flat?
Yes, it is extremely flat and fast. Over 60% of the course is paved, with the remainder on well-maintained gravel paths along the lake.
What is the cut-off time for the marathon?
The official time limit is 6 hours from the start of the race.
Do I need to carry my passport?
While there are no active border checks during the race across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, you should have a digital copy or ID at your hotel just in case.
