Where does the packet pickup take place?
Packet pickup typically occurs at the Snowbasin Resort main lodge on the Wednesday and Thursday before the races. Check the official itinerary for specific time slots by distance.
Is there a mandatory gear list?
Yes, as a UTMB World Series event, you must carry a waterproof jacket, emergency blanket, whistle, mobile phone, and a minimum of 1L water capacity. Mandatory gear is checked at bib collection.
What is the best way to get to the start line?
If staying in Ogden, use the official UTMB shuttle service to avoid parking congestion at the resort. If driving, arrive at least 90 minutes before your wave starts.
How technical are the trails?
The course features single-track trails through pine forests and alpine meadows. While mostly runnable, the climbs up to Needles and Allen Peak are steep and rocky.
What is the altitude of the race?
The base area is at 1,950m (6,400ft) and courses reach over 2,800m (9,300ft). If you live at sea level, arrive 3-4 days early to acclimatize.
Are trekking poles allowed?
Yes, poles are permitted and highly recommended for the vertical gain on the 100K and 50K courses. You must carry them from the start if you plan to use them.
