FAQ

What kind of footwear is required for the Snow Race?
Trail running shoes with aggressive lugs are essential. Most participants use Yaktrax or similar micro-spikes, as sections of the course can be icy or hard-packed snow.
Where is the packet pickup located?
Bib collection takes place at the Maison du Village in central Montgenèvre, usually on the Saturday afternoon before the race and early Sunday morning.
Are there hydration stations on the course?
Yes, but due to freezing temperatures, stations are fewer than summer trails. It involves carrying your own flask, and liquid can freeze, so insulated tubes are recommended.
What is the mandatory gear list?
Typically includes a thermal long-sleeve shirt, survival blanket, whistle, and a mobile phone. Check the final briefing as requirements change based on wind chill.
Is the course entirely on snow?
Yes, 100% of the course is on groomed snow trails and single-track powder. Expect uneven footing and significant calf fatigue.
How do I get to Montgenèvre from the airport?
Turin (TRN) is the closest airport. You can take the 'Linkbus' shuttle or a private transfer (approx. 1h 15m drive). Alternatively, take a train to Oulx (Italy) and a short bus to the resort.
