FAQ

How does the altitude affect the race?
Mexico City is at 2,240m (7,350ft). Expect to run 15-20 seconds slower per kilometre than at sea level. Hydrate aggressively and arrive 3-5 days early to acclimatise.
Where is the Expo and bib pickup?
Typically held at the World Trade Center (WTC) Mexico City. You must pick up your packet in person Friday or Saturday; no race-day pickup is allowed.
What is the race route profile?
The course is a 'point-to-point' starting at the Olympic Stadium or Insurgentes (direction varies by year) and usually finishes at the Zócalo or Olympic Stadium. It is generally flat but the altitude makes every slight incline feel significant.
Is there a bag drop service?
Yes, there are gear trucks at the start line that transport your belongings to the finish. Ensure you use the official clear bag provided in your race kit.
How do I get to the start line?
The Metro (Subway) usually opens early (05:00) for runners and is free upon showing your bib. Uber is reliable but expect heavy road closures along Reforma and Insurgentes.
What is the weather usually like?
August is the rainy season. It is usually cool and crisp at the start (12°C) but humidity rises, and there is a high chance of a late-morning shower.
