Where is the race village and packet pickup?
The race village is located at the Esplanade Taiping (Dataran Warisan Taiping). Packet pickup usually occurs in the two days preceding the race at the nearby civic hall.
What is the mandatory gear requirement?
Due to the rainforest environment, mandatory gear includes a waterproof jacket, emergency blanket, whistle, minimum 1L water capacity, and a working headlamp with spare batteries.
How humid is the race environment?
Extremely humid, often exceeding 80%. Multi-day trail runners should focus on electrolyte replacement and anti-chafing measures, as the wet heat is relentless.
Are trekking poles allowed?
Yes, trekking poles are permitted and highly recommended for the steep ascents and descents on Maxwell Hill (Bukit Larut).
How do I get to Taiping from Kuala Lumpur?
The most efficient way is the ETS (Electric Train Service) from KL Sentral to Taiping Station, taking approximately 3 hours. Alternatively, it is a 3-hour drive via the North-South Expressway.
Can I leave a drop bag for the longer distances?
Yes, runners in the 100km and 50km categories typically have access to one drop bag at a designated mid-way checkpoint.
