Ironman San Juan

Un triatlón de larga distancia emblemático con la cordillera de los Andes como telón de fondo. Los atletas se enfrentan a una natación en aguas dulces en un embalse cristalino, seguida de un segmento de ciclismo y carrera a pie llano a través de impresionantes paisajes desérticos. Where is the swim start located?
The swim typically takes place in the Dique Punta Negra reservoir, located approximately 40 minutes from the city center. Shuttle buses are usually provided for athletes.
Are wetsuits allowed?
Yes, water temperatures in the reservoir in November usually range between 18-21°C, making wetsuits legal for age-groupers.
How do I get my bike to the transition area?
There is a split transition. You will need to check your bike in at T1 (Punta Negra) on the day before the race. The event provides transport for athletes from the race village.
Is the bike course flat?
No, the course is undulating and scenic, featuring a significant descent from the dam back towards the city, followed by loops on the city's faster motorways.
Where can I pick up my race pack?
Packet pickup is located at the Ironman Expo, typically held at the San Juan City Center or the nearby Parque de Mayo.
What is the run course surface?
The run is entirely on paved roads/sidewalks through the city and San Martin Park, consisting of multiple flat laps.
