The swim is an 2.4-mile point-to-point downstream swim in the Tennessee River, often resulting in very fast times.

Packet pickup and the Ironman Village are typically located at Ross’s Landing Park, near the Tennessee Aquarium.
Is it a wetsuit-legal race?
Water temperatures in late September usually hover around 24-26°C. It is often a 'wetsuit optional' race for age groupers, meaning you can wear one but won't be eligible for awards.
What is the bike course profile?
The bike course is actually 116 miles (4 miles longer than standard) and features rolling hills through North Georgia with several significant climbs and fast descents.
