FAQ

What is the best way to get to the SEC on race morning?
The SEC has its own train station 'Exhibition Centre' which is only a 3-minute journey from Glasgow Central. If staying in Finnieston, it's a short 5-10 minute walk.
When should I arrive for my heat?
You must check in and collect your timing chip at least 90 minutes before your scheduled start time. This allows for bag drop and a proper 30-minute warmup.
Is there a bag drop at HYROX Glasgow?
Yes, there is a secure athlete baggage area. You will receive a bag tag with your race pack. Keep your belongings minimal and well-identified.
Which shoes are recommended for the SEC floor?
The SEC floor is typical industrial concrete with mats. Shoes with good grip for the sled push/pull, like the Puma Fuse or Reebok Nano, are highly recommended over pure running shoes.
Can I bring my own nutrition and hydration?
Yes, athletes can bring their own bottles and gels. There is a water station in the Roxzone (transition), but having your own electrolytes for before and after is advised.
Are spectators allowed inside the SEC?
Yes, spectators are welcome! They need to purchase a spectator ticket. The SEC layout is excellent for seeing multiple workout stations from the viewing areas.
Is there a dedicated warmup area?
HYROX provides a specific warmup zone with ergs (Row/Ski), weights, and space for mobility work that you can access roughly 30 minutes before your heat.
