FAQ

Where is the race packet pickup located?
Packet pickup typically takes place at the multi-purpose hall (Salle des Moulins) or the tourist office area near the Tour de Crest on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
How difficult is the elevation profile?
The Challenge Vallée de la Drôme is known for significant elevation gain. Even the 'marathon' distances are trail-heavy with technical descents and steep climbs around the Vercors edges.
What is the best way to get to Crest from the airport?
Fly into Lyon (LYS), then take a train to Valence TGV. From Valence, a local TER train or bus reaches Crest in approximately 30-40 minutes.
Is there a mandatory gear list?
Yes, as this is a trail event, you must carry a minimum of 1L water, a survival blanket, a whistle, and a waterproof jacket depending on the weather forecast.
Are there cut-off times?
Yes, strict cut-off times are enforced at aid stations to ensure athlete safety. These are calculated based on a minimum pace of roughly 4-5 km/h depending on the specific route.
What kind of shoes should I wear?
Aggressive trail shoes are highly recommended. The terrain involves limestone rocks, mud (if wet), and steep forest paths where road shoes will lack sufficient grip.
