FAQ

What is the typical weather for the BOclassic?
It is cold. Temperatures usually range between -2°C and 5°C. Expect dry, crisp air, but check for potential ice on the cobblestone corners.
Where does the packet pickup take place?
Bib collection is typically at the 'Stadttheater' or City Theatre located on Verdi Square, just a 5-minute walk from Walther Square.
Is the course flat?
Yes, the 1.25km loop is very flat, but it is highly technical with several 90-degree turns and long stretches of cobblestones in the historic centre.
Can I leave my bag at the start?
Yes, there is a dedicated baggage drop area near the start/finish line in Walther Square, usually available from 1 hour before the first race.
Are there different starts for elites and amateurs?
Yes. The 'Ladurner Volkslauf' is the amateur race (5km) and usually starts around 13:00, while the Elite races take place later in the afternoon.
What should I wear?
Long tights and a thermal base layer are recommended. Since it is a loop course, many athletes wear gloves and headbands which can be easily managed if you overheat.
