FAQ

When and where is the packet pickup?
Packet pickup typically takes place at the Expo located in the Palacio Euskalduna near the San Mames stadium on Friday and Saturday morning/afternoon. No bibs are given at the start line immediately before the race.
What is the start time? It seems late.
Yes, as a night race, the Marathon and Half Marathon usually start around 19:00. This requires a specific nutrition strategy—treat your midday meal as your main pre-race fuel.
Is the course very hilly?
The course is mostly flat as it follows the Nervión River, but expect a few gentle inclines as you cross bridges and move between the old and new parts of the city.
How do I get to the start line from the airport?
Take the A3247 Bizkaibus from Bilbao Airport (BIO) to the 'Termibus' station. The station is a 3-minute walk from San Mames Stadium and the main athlete hotels.
Is there a bag drop service?
Yes, bag drop is located near the San Mames Stadium. Ensure you use the official bag provided in your race pack and arrive at least 45 minutes early as queues can be long.
What is the weather like for a night run in October?
Temperatures are usually mild, ranging from 12°C to 16°C. However, Bilbao is known for 'sirimiri' (fine drizzle), so lightweight, moisture-wicking gear is highly recommended.
