- No, Bergen is hilly. The course features significant elevation changes, including a climb up toward Fjellveien which offers stunning views but requires pacing discipline.
- What is the weather usually like in late April?
- Expect variable conditions. Temperatures usually range between 6°C and 12°C. Bergen is famously rainy, so bring a lightweight waterproof running jacket.
- Are there pacemakers for the marathon?
- Yes, pacers are typically provided for major time goals ranging from 3:00 to 4:30. Look for the flags in the starting corral.
- How do I get from the airport to the city centre?
- The Bergen Light Rail (Bybanen) line 1 runs every 10 minutes from BGO airport to the city centre (Byparken). It takes approx 45 minutes and is very affordable.
- Are there hydration stations on the course?
- Stations are located roughly every 5km serving water and sports drinks. Some stations in the latter half also provide bananas and glucose.
