Bergen City Marathon

Where and when is bib collection?
Packet pickup normally takes place at the Vikinghallen sports hall near Bryggen in the two days leading up to the race. Bring your registration QR code and ID.
Is the course flat?
No, Bergen is hilly. The course features significant elevation changes, including a climb up toward Fjellveien which offers stunning views but requires pacing discipline.
What is the weather usually like in late April?
Expect variable conditions. Temperatures usually range between 6°C and 12°C. Bergen is famously rainy, so bring a lightweight waterproof running jacket.
Are there pacemakers for the marathon?
Yes, pacers are typically provided for major time goals ranging from 3:00 to 4:30. Look for the flags in the starting corral.
How do I get from the airport to the city centre?
The Bergen Light Rail (Bybanen) line 1 runs every 10 minutes from BGO airport to the city centre (Byparken). It takes approx 45 minutes and is very affordable.
Are there hydration stations on the course?
Stations are located roughly every 5km serving water and sports drinks. Some stations in the latter half also provide bananas and glucose.
