Where and when is packet pickup?
Bib collection usually takes place on Saturday at The Rex (Barossa Aquatic Centre) between 12:00 and 16:00, and early Sunday morning before the race starts.
Is the course closed to traffic?
The course uses a combination of closed roads and shared paths. While major sections are closed, athletes must stay within the marked cones and obey course marshal instructions.
What is the terrain of the marathon?
The course is exceptionally flat for a regional race, following the Barossa Trail and local roads. It is a multi-loop course designed for fast times and PB attempts.
Are there bag drop facilities at the start?
Yes, a supervised bag drop is available inside The Rex. Ensure your bag is clearly marked with your race number using the tag provided in your kit.
How cold is it at the start line?
August is winter in South Australia. Expect temperatures near 4-6°C at the 7:30am start. Most runners wear 'throw-away' layers for the first few kilometers.
Is there parking near the venue?
Ample parking is available at The Rex and surrounding side streets, but it fills up by 6:45am. Arrive early to avoid a long walk to the start.
What nutrition is provided on course?
Aid stations are located approximately every 2.5km to 3km, providing water and electrolyte drinks. Some stations in the latter half also provide fruit or gels.
