FAQ

Where do I pick up my race packet?
Packet pickup is at the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo held at McCormick Place. There is no race-day pickup. Use the free shuttle buses provided from downtown hotels.
What is the best way to get to the start line?
If staying downtown, walking is best. If coming from further out, take the 'L' train (Blue, Red, or Brown lines) to stops near Jackson or Adams/Wabash.
Are there gear check facilities?
Yes, gear check is located within the participant-only area of Grant Park. You must use the clear plastic bag provided at the expo.
Is the course flat?
Extremely flat. Chicago is known as one of the fastest courses in the world, with the only noticeable 'hill' being the Roosevelt Road bridge at Mile 26.
Can I wear a hydration vest?
No. Typical hydration vests and fuel belts with multiple bottles are strictly prohibited. Handheld bottles and waist packs with one bottle are usually permitted.
What happens if it rains?
The race goes on. Bring a disposable poncho or 'throwaway' layers for the start corals as Chicago can be windy and damp in October.
