- Where do I pick up my race packet?
- Packet pickup is at the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo held at McCormick Place. There is no race-day pickup. Use the free shuttle buses provided from downtown hotels.
- What is the best way to get to the start line?
- If staying downtown, walking is best. If coming from further out, take the 'L' train (Blue, Red, or Brown lines) to stops near Jackson or Adams/Wabash.
- Are there gear check facilities?
- Yes, gear check is located within the participant-only area of Grant Park. You must use the clear plastic bag provided at the expo.
- Is the course flat?
- Extremely flat. Chicago is known as one of the fastest courses in the world, with the only noticeable 'hill' being the Roosevelt Road bridge at Mile 26.
- Can I wear a hydration vest?
- No. Typical hydration vests and fuel belts with multiple bottles are strictly prohibited. Handheld bottles and waist packs with one bottle are usually permitted.
- What happens if it rains?
- The race goes on. Bring a disposable poncho or 'throwaway' layers for the start corals as Chicago can be windy and damp in October.
