FAQ

Where exactly is the bib collection (packet pickup)?
Bib collection takes place at the Mairie de Châteauvieux (Town Hall) square. It typically opens at 07:30 on race morning, though it is recommended to arrive by 08:00 to avoid the queues for the short-distance starts.
Is there mandatory gear for the trail races?
Yes. For the longer distances, you must carry a minimum of 0.5L water, a whistle, and a mobile phone. A trail cup is mandatory as there are no plastic cups at aid stations (Eco-friendly race).
What is the technical difficulty of the terrain?
The course consists of single tracks and forest paths. It is moderately technical with some steep limestone sections that can be slippery if damp. Trail shoes with good 'lug' depth are essential.
Are there parking facilities at the start line?
Limited parking is available in the fields surrounding the village. Arrive at least 60 minutes before your wave start as the narrow village roads become congested quickly.
How are the aid stations (ravitaillements) stocked?
Stations are stocked with local cheeses, dried fruit, crackers, and water/syrup. For the Marathon-distance runners, it is advised to carry your own specific gels or electrolytes.
What happens if there is bad weather?
The Hautes-Alpes weather can change rapidly. The organisers may mandate a waterproof jacket (taped seams) or shorten the course if thunderstorms are predicted for the ridges.
