How do I collect my race packet?
Packet pickup typically takes place at the Almaty Marathon Sport Exhibition 2-3 days before the race. You must bring your ID and a printed copy of your registration confirmation. There is strictly no race-day pickup.
Is the course flat?
No, the Almaty Marathon is known for its steady incline. The first half generally gains elevation as you run toward the mountains, followed by a significant downhill second half. Pace yourself conservatively for the first 21km.
What is the weather like in late September?
Expect crisp, autumnal conditions. Early morning temperatures can be around 8-10°C, warming up to 18-22°C by midday. It is usually dry and sunny.
Are there hydration stations?
Yes, water and electrolyte stations are positioned every 5km. Sponges and fruit (usually bananas) are provided at later stages of the course.
How do I get to the start line on Al-Farabi Avenue?
